Every so often I’ll acquire a piece of clothing that causes me to so neglect the rest of my closet, that I find it difficult to remember what I wore before it came into my life. And that is exactly what happened in the case of this shift dress. I knew it would be versatile, as most black dresses are, but I never imagine I’d wear it as often as I do. LA has been uncomfortably hot these last few weeks, so it’s been difficult to consider anything but airy dresses and open-toed shoes. Fortunately I got a break from the heat during a visit to San Francisco, and fell deeper in love with this dress when it once again proved its versatility styled with a jacket and booties for fall. As I mentioned in this post, I’m not quite ready to retire my summer wardrobe, so I love pieces like this that can carry over to fall.
