Top: Rails (additional options here & here, Skirt: H&M (Similar here, here, here & here), Boots: Steve Madden, Purse: Forever 21, Watch: Daniel Wellington, Lipstick: Revlon in "Plum Velour" Cliche as it may sound, I love plaid for fall. The obvious choice is to pair it with denim, but I love when it's mixed with something a bit more unexpected, like leather. Balancing a classic plaid with something a little more modern, like this leather skirt, is a great way to transform an otherwise casual fall staple into something much more chic. I've talked about my love for Rails flannels before, and they continue to be at...

Red 23 Jacket: Brothers On The Blvd, Tee: Equipment (similar here), Skirt: H&M (similar here, here  and here), Heels: Express To be honest, I bought this skirt with the sense that it might never actually get worn. I know that sounds weird, but it felt edgier than my style at the time, so although I loved it, I wrote it off as one of those pieces that I may never actually make use of (a bad habit I am working on!). Sweater: Express, Bralet: Eberjey, Skirt: H&M (similar here, here  and here), Boots: Express (similar here and here), Purse: Old Navy, Bracelets: Madewell, Nail Polish: Essie in "Mink Muffs" You might associate a black mini skirt with something to be worn during warmer months, but I'm using mine even though the days have started to cool down. The leather-like material helps make this one perfect for fall, and it would work just as well in the winter simply by adding a pair of tights. I used to worry that black leather would come off too edgy for day wear, but a neutral sweater instantly softens the look. Top it...

Black On Black

H&M Sweater, H&M Skirt, Brandy Melville Purse (old, similar here), Lulus Heels, Giles & Brother Bit Cuff (old, similar here), CRAP Sunglasses I'm all for black-on-black lately. It's slimming, complements every skin tone, and goes with nearly everything. While the color is simple in theory, it can quickly become dull when not approached strategically, so I always incorporate a mixture of fabrics and textures to keep things from looking one-dimensional. This skirt in particular is one of my favorites because of its leather-like fabric and quilted detailing, which add a bit of edge while still remaining chic. The less-edgy conservative side of me...
