Last weekend, I headed up to San Francisco for 48 hours of sightseeing. I’d been to the city many times before, but despite its humble size, it’s a city full of hidden gems and each trip makes me see how much more there is to discover. The weather wasn’t exactly conducive to sightseeing, with high winds and brisk air, but we made the most of our time despite the unfavorable conditions and even managed to snap a few pictures during a brief period while the wind (and my windy hair) died down. With no particular agenda, we spent the afternoon walking around the city and stumbled across Chantal Guillon, a charming shop that specializes in French macarons. I wasn’t about to ignore a sign from fate, so we picked up a dozen and snuck into La Boulange to keep warm with some lattes and French Onion soup. It was the perfect remedy for the not-so-perfect San Francisco weather.
