I’ve been lucky that most of the jobs I’ve had since college haven’t required business attire. Between LA’s laid-back dress code and working in the typically casual tech industry, denim and sandals were frequently my uniform. However, I did work in the hospitality industry for a year, which involved a far more corporate environment and formal dress code. And while there are many things I miss about my hospitality job, pantsuits isn’t one of them. In fact, I had essentially written blazers off until stumbling upon this one. Unlike the blazers I’d previously worn, which were overly structured and restricting, the soft draped fabric and relaxed fit of this one make it anything but stuffy. It’s perfect for dressing up an otherwise casual outfit like I’ve done here, and adds just the right level of sophistication when layered over a more fitted dress or top for a night out.
