There was a time that I used to dread shopping. So much so, that my mom would force me out to the mall so that I wouldn’t embarrass myself by wearing one of two t-shirts over and over again. But getting me there was only half the struggle, as I would still revert to my habit of picking out the most neutral items I could find, meaning anything new hardly stood out anyway. I still gravitate towards neutrals when it comes to the basics, but every so often I’ll step out of my comfort zone for an item that really stands out. Mara Hoffman, known for her big prints and vibrant colors, has created a dress that’s just that. It’s form fitting in all the right places and so soft. I’ve only owned it a few weeks, but it has become a favorite. I’ll be wearing it every chance I get this summer, and hope by styling it with a sweater or small jacket, that I can carry it into the cooler months, too.
