If you told me a few years ago that I’d own a bodysuit one day, I wouldn’t have believed you. Yet here I am, welcoming a trend with open arms that I never thought I’d embrace. I had always filed bodysuits under the “mom” category, somewhere next to overalls and unflattering “mom jeans,” but as trends from the 80s and 90s started to reemerge and I saw how chic they could look when styled properly, my sentiment shifted, and I found myself on the hunt for said items. Fortunately, there’s an abundance to choose from in stores right now, and since owning a couple (I also have this one), I’ve found them to be incredibly versatile, working with everything from denim cutoffs to pencil skirts. I paired this one with high-waisted skinny jeans for a streamlined silhouette, but when I’m aiming for a more laid back look, I’ll swap the fitted bottoms for a baggier pair of destroyed denim. Whether it’s laced-up, off-the-shoulder or long-sleeved, there’s a style for everyone. But this sleeveless turtleneck (aka, the mock neck) might be my current favorite. It strikes the perfect balance between sophisticated and sexy, and the sleeveless high-neck can carry over into any season, especially when layered with a sweater or blazer.
