I love collecting cookbooks and coffee table books due to the fact that you’re essentially getting a two for one benefit. Yes, they can be annoyingly pricey sometimes, but their ability to provide endless inspiration, while doubling as home decor, makes purchasing them easier to justify (and one of the many reasons they also make a great gift). Not only do they serve as a great building block for styling things like shelves and tables, which can be challenging to decorate, but having a variety of books on display with different colors and textures instantly makes any space more interesting. So if there’s ever a time to judge a book by it’s cover, this would be it.
Since this recent venture, I’ve been adding to my existing collection as I go through the furnishing process, and it’s already made quite an impact. Not only do the books aid in tying other decorative pieces together, but they have a way of bringing life to the space and making the house feel more like a home. Here are a few of my favorites that I’ve picked up recently, along with others I’m looking to add – featuring everything from home and decor, to entertaining, travel and recipes (including cookbooks from some of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, one of which includes one of my favorite dessert recipes ever).
